The Wandering Musicphile

I always say, "these musicians are as normal as you or me, they're just passionate about making music that we happen to love." But not everyone really gets the opportunity to experience this normal side. This is when I felt compelled to make this new addition to my blog, Meeting The Band. This is not to brag, "oh, I got to hang out with such-and-such band." This is to share a more real side to these artists, a side that we all can connect with, a side that I never got to experience from all these formal interviews. Because, well... they really are just normal people off the stage. There will be no real order to it, I won't go, "OH, I'M BLOGGING THIS," as soon as I get back from hanging out with musician friends. I'll just make one whenever I feel like it.

Topic: Soundtrack To The Day
This is why I made this blog. Soundtrack To The Day will be dedicated to small-time, often unsigned artists, such artists that have little to no promotion. I try to keep it diverse. It used to have a once-a-day update frequencey but because I am just one person and I do get really busy I changed this to three updates a week. Mon/Tues, Wed/Thurs, and Saturday.

Topic: Occasional Ramblings
This will just be a bunch of random stuff such as trip updates or spouting out how many bands I've seen so far. It will be a bunch of boring text primarily written for myself. Read it if you want.

Topic: New Album Releases
Pretty self-explanatory. I don't feature every artist, but ones that are significant to me (or ones that request me to promote their new stuff). On a rare occasion will I write an actual review, though. While I try to be somewhat articulate when I write, for some reason all articulation disappears when I review music. However, I will occasionally write some words about experiences with the music.

Topic: Concerts
This sounded like a good idea at first, and then I went to a bunch of concerts. It takes a while for me to write, and I simply don't have enough time or energy to write about every concert I go to. So, this section has long been retired.

Genres
I try to tag the correct genres to each artist. However, to keep the blog a little more simplified, I will not open up a new genre tag for some obscure subgenre. There are already more one-artist genre tags than I am comfortable with.
